Not all replies have to be essays. Sometimes it’s in character to give a short response.
Roleplaying is NOT a zero-sum game! Just because one person is awesome at their character with a lot of followers doesn’t mean you can’t be, too. Canon characters don’t have to be a competition. Most people are willing to roleplay with duplicates! And just because one shout out site called so-and-so the “best” doesn’t make you any less amazing at that character! Who knows! The person who submitted that may have never even seen your blog. And even if they did, everyone has different tastes and preferences. There are a lot of fish in that big, navy-blue sea of tumblr!
I love seeing when multiple versions if the same character really get along, even if they compete for the same partners. Seeing them be nice always makes my day.
I think you're wrong.
Are you trying to be ironic?
I have a question I thought of because I was reading some comments on the more controversial posts: Is it possible to refute an opinion?
Tough question. Not sure there’s really a right answer…
But, personally, I don’t think it’s possible to ever prove an opinion “wrong.” You can argue for it or against it with facts and opinions of your own and quoted from others, and you can maybe change someone else’s mind about something, but no matter how misguided or illogical or uninformed an opinion may be, the minute we start putting definite limits on what people are or aren’t “allowed” to think is the moment the world becomes a very scary (Orwellian) place.
But, hey, that’s just my opinion on it.
It's a random button! :o neato
You got it!
But way to ruin the surprise.
Hi sorry to bother you but what does the "order up" button do? I've never seen it on your blog before.
annoyance: It's really annoying that people spend so much time complaining about role playing and RPers in general. I feel like everyone has so many rules and pet peeves that I shouldn't even bother. It's supposed to be FUN people!
You know I can’t help but feel you’re looking at things the wrong way here. And normally I wouldn’t comment, but it does seem like something of a personal attack on this blog.
But you should realize that even though roleplaying is for fun, it’s perfectly natural to find certain things annoying. Anytime there’s an activity that involves others you’re bound to run into some things others do that rub you the wrong way. And you also come face to face with some things you’re not good at.
Complaining isn’t always people taking things too seriously. But it is very often a catharsis that can keep one from getting frustrated to the point of quitting an activity they really enjoy. And having a confessional like this one gives people a way to do that in a way there won’t bring on terrible repercussions. Granted, sometimes that backfires on us, but most often it works as a way to communicate an opinion and kind of test the waters to see how others in the community feel about it.
I’m not discrediting your opinion. I just think it might be healthier to look at it another way, and I also wanted to explain why I’m not comfortable making the legitimate napkin post for it. Sorry.
It bothers me when the mun projects their own personal tastes that goes against the personality of a canon character. Like religious believes and addictions for example.
It’s not that I’m SCARED to ask someone for a roleplay, I’m just scared they’re only saying yes to give pity on me.
